BPE Titans vs. Lehigh Yankees
After being placed in a tough bracket in the playoffs, BPE Titans showed resilience and upset the #5 seed with the score of 5-4. Ray Larsen (Livingston, NJ) started on the mound and showed one of his best outings as he shut down a strong Lehigh Yankee offense. Larsen pitched 4 1/3 innings with 4k’s and was relieved by Patrick Montfort (Morristown, NJ) in the 5th inning. The Titans came out strong while putting up 4 runs in the first inning. After being shut out the next 4 innings, Matt Feit (Livingston, NJ), who was pinch running for Tom Montfort, used his aggressive base running and scored on a passed ball giving the Titans the lead. The Lehigh Yankees threatened in the last inning when they had the tying run on 2nd base with 2-outs. Max Cooper (Morristown, NJ) flagged down a tough fly ball down the line to secure the win.
BPE Titans fell short in the Quarter-finals as they faced the #3 seed Young Guns.
After a long day, the Titans were beat up and tired but still fought till the end as they put together a big threat in the last inning but just could not get it done.
The 13u BPE Titans ended up as one of the top 8 teams of the tournament.
