Talented instructors with first-hand experience
Over the past eight years, the staff at Ballplayer’s Edge has successfully completed over 30,000 individual training sessions…all aimed at making you a better hitter and a more well-rounded player.
Joel Burgos

Joel is an acclaimed player and instructor who serves as the hitting coach for Rutgers University-Newark. After being named the Rutgers University-Newark team MVP in 2004, Joel went on to sign a professional contract with the Alexandria Aces of the UBL in 2006.
In his career he owned a .496 slugging percentage. His best season came in his senior year when he finished third in the NJAC in home runs and fifth in RBIs while leading the team in seven offensive categories.
Jason Burgos

Jason brings a wealth of experience and accomplishments to Ballplayer’s Edge, including the Hitting Title and Gold Glove award as a centerfielder at Roxbury High School. Jason went on to become an All-Conference and All-Region player at County College of Morris before finishing his career at Ramapo College.
Today his twin brother, Joel, credits him with all of his professional success. Jason played a major role in the development of Joel's swing after college. It was then that his twin brother signed a professional contract.
Justin Gerardo

Justin, currently the softball Assistant Head Varsity Coach for Bergen Tech High School, has been a private instructor for eight years following a stellar playing career. He was a standout third baseman for County College of Morris and William Paterson University, and played for the semi-pro Waterloo Tigers of the ICL in Ontario.
Colin Crowley - Athletic Performance Director
Colin is a fully certified Personal Trainer and Fitness expert who has a very obvious passion for the fitness of the clients and athletes that he trains. Colin has been coaching strength and conditioning, speed and agility, and athletic development to athletes and teams both here in New Jersey and in Ireland for the past 10 years.
Colin comes from an athletic background which saw him play Irish Gaelic football at the very highest level with current All-Ireland champions Cork for over 10 years helping them to win numerous titles. In this time Colin has worked with some of the best players, coaches and Sports development coaches in the country gaining a wealth of sports performance skills and knowledge which he now hands down to the next generation of sports stars here in New Jersey through his lifelong dream.
Colin's athletes have already benefitted from his extensive knowledge of Sports Psychology, Sports nutrition, Professional Athletic Development, Specialized Training Programs and on field player experience in front of full capacity attendances in the biggest stadiums in the country. Colin's sporting career has enabled him to compete in various countries across Europe and in the U.S. As an athlete Colin knows exactly what it takes to get to the top of your sport. Colin is renowned for his dedication and commitment to fitness and now gives the very same dedication and commitment to the Clients, Athletes and teams that he coaches.
Eric Johnson
Eric currently serves as the hitting and infield coach for Whippany Park High School. Eric's baseball career started when he was chosen to represent the Jr. Olympic team of New Jersey while in high school. His high school career consisted of 4 years of All-Conference honors and 3 years of All-State and All-Area honors. He was a member of 2 State Final teams and a County Final team. Eric then went on to play in college at the University of New Haven on an academic/athletic scholarship where he was named the preseason Rookie to Watch in the NYCAC. He received Rookie of the Conference honors for the first month of the season on a Regional 2006 New Haven team.
